4 Ways to Increase Your Money This Month

4 Ways to Increase Your Money This Month

We all have times where our income doesn’t quite stretch until the next payday. It could be down to a multitude of reasons: unfortunate circumstances, an unexpected dip in the economy or even a mistake on your part… If your lack of money is through an accident and your medical bills or time off work has left you short, you may want to find a personal injury law firm in New York – click the link if that is the case.

Otherwise, if the shortage is due to your own poor planning and spending habits, you may need to think of some other creative ways to maximize your funds and ensure your bills get paid.

1. Sell Items

Perhaps you have items of clothing or pieces of furniture that you haven’t used in years. That dress from your teens, or ghastly lamp your aunt gave you, can all finally do something useful. Using sites like Craigslist, Gumtree, or eBay, as well as garage sales, can help boost your income. While each piece may not give you a large sum of money, with numerous items you can quickly build up money – hopefully enough to tide you over until you next get paid.

2. Compare Suppliers

Whether you want to decrease your electric bill or go on a cheaper mobile tariff, there are many ways you can change your bills to benefit you. There is no real benefit to sticking with one company as, generally, all the good deals tend to be for luring in new customers. Rather than paying over the odds for an essential utility, you can shop around for better deals. These can save you a little now and, hopefully, a lot over the course of the next few months.

3. Take on a Second Job

If you have the time to do so, a second job might be a good call to help you make ends meet. This can be something as simple as an hour each week, or use it to fill your current non-working days. Either way, it can help you not fall behind on any payments.

One thing to note here is that you will need to keep assessing your situation. Overworking can cause mental and physical problems. If you feel it is becoming too much, and your situation allows, there is no harm in cutting your hours back again to maintain your health.

4. Create a Service

We are frequently seeing people making money through services such as Etsy, as well as on social media. If you have a niche or skill, why not get paid for it? For some, they find baking is their forte, for others it may be crafts. As long as you have the proper documentation, such as a food hygiene certificate or any insurance papers needed, then there is no reason you could not set up your own business to generate extra income. Remember, in doing so, you may need to pay any taxes associated with this income.

There are various ways you can increase the amount of money you have at your disposal, especially if you are willing to put in some extra effort. Good budgeting skills can also go a long way to help you avoid being caught short again.
